JOB TITLE: LEGAL OFFICER

LOCATION: MUTARE
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide legal services to the Commission.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing legal advice to the Commission and clients.
- Provide legal secretarial services through drafting notices and Commission meeting board packs, and by preparing gazettes and other official legal publications.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, leases, policies and other legal documents.
- Advise on the interpretation and application of legislation, regulations and Constitutional provisions.
- Conduct legal research and provide opinions on gender related issues.
- Identify legal gaps relating to gender in our legislation and policies for law reform and development.
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings during litigation.
- Manage legal and court processes by monitoring court proceedings, tracking key developments, and ensuring timely escalation and proper documentation of legal matters.
- Implement legal awareness programmes.
- Monitor compliance with Gender equality Regional and International Best Practices.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- LLB Hons (Bachelor of laws) or any equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
