loved ones, communities and the nation of Zimbabwe on the tragic boat accident on Lake Kariba involving
the RIDA ferry travelling to Chalala.
The Commission is deeply saddened by the reported loss of lives and the distress caused by this tragic incident.
Every life lost represents a profound loss to a family, community, and our nation, leaving behind an
irreplaceable void.
At this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with all those affected and extend our heartfelt sympathies to the
bereaved families. We also acknowledge the ongoing efforts by the relevant authorities and rescue teams who
are working tirelessly to locate and assist those who may still be unaccounted for.
The Zimbabwe Gender Commission calls for continued support for the affected families and communities
during this period of grief. We further encourage all relevant authorities to ensure that the rescue and recovery
operations remain a priority and that affected families receive timely information and necessary support.

children and other vulnerable members of affected communities.
