Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancies that have risen within the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC). A) 4 x REGIONAL COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO         :         Chief Executive Officer

STATION               :         Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru and Chinhoyi

Job Summary:

The position exists to undertake and coordinate the various regional program operations of ZGC by developing the overall regional strategies that meets the organisation’s objectives. The job also entails collaborating, liaising and coordinating with other government agencies, business and other relevant stakeholders in order to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Gender Studies, Law or any relevant Social Sciences degree
  • Relevant Master’s Degree is a must
  • 4-5 years’ experience dealing with gender issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Possess good leadership skills

 

B) 4 X PUBLIC EDUCATION OFFICER

REPORTS TO         :                   Regional Coordinator

STATION               :                   Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru and Chinhoyi

Job Summary:

The position exists to undertake and coordinate the various Public Education & Information operations of Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) by engaging in a variety of public outreach and community relations activities, special events, and public awareness programs.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Gender Studies or any Social Sciences,
  • 3-4 years’ experience
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be able to engage with various stakeholders

 

 

C) 6 X LEGAL OFFICER                    

REPORTS TO     :   Regional Coordinator

STATION           :   Harare, Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Chinhoyi and Bulawayo

Job Summary:

The position exists to manage and coordinate the Legal operations of ZGC by providing legal counsel in order to meet the needs of the organisations as well as expectations of all stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Law or equivalent
  • 3-4 years’ experience preferably in gender issues
  • Ability to handle confidential information

 

D) 10 X INVESTIGATION OFFICER

REPORTS TO         :         Regional Coordinator

STATION               :         Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Chinhoyi

Job Summary       :

The position exists to manage and coordinate the Investigation operations of ZGC by conducting investigations of Possible Violations Related to Gender in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The job also entails collecting evidence that is permissible in the courts of law in case of lawsuits.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Law, Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years’ experience preferably in gender issues
  • Good report writing skills

 

E) 6 X RESEARCH AND PROGRAMMING OFFICER

REPORTS TO         :Regional Coordinator

STATION               : Harare, Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Chinhoyi

Job Summary:

The position exists to conduct research and programming activities in order to meet the objectives of the organization as well as the expectations of all stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Law, Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years’ experience preferably in gender issues
  • Good research and analytical skills.

 

 

F) JOB TITLE: IT OFFICER

REPORTS TO         : IT Manager

LOCATION            : Harare

Job Summary       :

The position exists to provide an efficient, effective and business supporting Information Communications and Technology system for the organization. The officer will assists the IT Manager in setting up standards and procedures for use and access to software and hardware as well as managing and updating the Commission’s website.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Information, Communication & Technology
  • 3-5 years relevant working experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

 

 

G) JOB TITLE     :  ACCOUNTANT

REPORTS TO         : Finance Manager

LOCATION             : Harare

Job Summary:

The position exists to ensure effective posting of journals into the system so as to ensure that proper adjustments are made to the Ledger accounts. The officer should also be able to verify and correct any anomalies for every particular account to ensure the organisation is furnished with accurate information at all times. It is again critical that the officer assist the Finance Manager in the production of monthly financial returns and reports timeously for management information and decision-making.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Financial, Business Skills and Knowledge of SAP is a must

 

H) 1 X PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER      

REPORTS TO         : Public Relations Manager

STATION               : Head office

Job Summary       :

The position exists to undertake and coordinate the various Public Education & Information operations of ZGC. The officer will also undertake a variety of public outreach and community relations activities, special events, and public awareness programs as well as interpreting the perceptions, opinions, and actions of specific groups to the manager.

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies
  • 3-4 years’ experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

 

I) LIBRARIAN

 REPORTS TO                :  Manager- Public Education

STATION                      : Head office

Job Summary  

The position exists for facilitating access to information and promoting literacy through organizing and maintaining collections of books, journals, and other materials, as well as helping in locating and use these resources effectively. The officer will again responsible for navigating the complex landscape of digital information and providing guidance on how to access and evaluate online sources.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Library and Information or Equivalent
  • 3-4 years’ experience
  • Good communication skills with all stakeholders

 

J) 2 X INTERNAL AUDITOR

REPORTS TO         :                   Audit Manager

STATION               :                   Harare

 Job Summary:

The position exists to contribute to the overall organizational success by identifying potential risk in the organisation. In addition, the position is accountable for enhancing organisation’s processes through supportive internal audit processes designed to prevent prejudice or loss to the organisation.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or any relevant and equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to make sound judgements

 

 

K) 3 X DRIVER

REPORTS TO         :                   Administration Officer

STATION               :                   Harare

Job Summary       :

The position exists to provide transportation services to staff and clients to ensure for the smooth execution of their duties without any delays, and ensuring that the vehicle is in a good state.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • 5 “O” Levels including English
  • Valid Clean Class Two (2) Drivers Licence
  • Defensive Driver’s Certificate
  • Medical Examination and ability to meet set targets
  • Certificate of Retest by Vehicle Examination Department
  • 3-5 years’ accident free driving experience

 

L) 3 X EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

REPORTS TO         :                   Directors

STATION               :                   Harare

Job Summary:

The position is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support for the Commission Directors with utmost professional standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • National or Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
  • Good communicator and very courteous
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

M) 5 X FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

REPORTS TO         :         Regional Coordinator

STATION               :         Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Chinhoyi 

 Job Summary:

The position exists to ensure full compliance of all financial, administration and human resources activities with rules and regulations, policies, procedures and strategies for the regional offices.

 Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Sound knowledge of administration and financial statutes

 

N) 6 X RECEPTIONIST

REPORTS TO         :         Finance and Administration Officer

STATION               :         Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Chinhoyi 

 Job Summary:

The position exists and serves as the interface between regional office and its stakeholders through a high level of professionalism and courtesy that leaves a good impression and builds a solid reputation.

 Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • HND in Secretarial studies or equivalent
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team and helping out with various tasks as required.

 

O) 5 X OFFICE ORDERLY

REPORTS TO         :         Finance and Administration Officer

STATION               :         Masvingo, Mutare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Chinhoyi 

 Job Summary:

The position exists to ensure cleanliness of offices, serving refreshment and timely delivery of all mail.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • 5 “O” Levels
  • 1-2 years’ experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time
