The Zimbabwe Gender Commission is established in terms of Section 245 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe to promote, protect, enforce, and advance gender equality. The Commission pursuant to its mandate, has partnered with UN Women to implement the Women Rise in Politics (WRiP), a training and mentorship program designed to build capacity and confidence of aspiring women political candidates. Phase 1 of the programme was implemented in 2021 covering 12 electoral districts across the country. Meanwhile, the Commission, with the support of UN Women, intends to roll out Phase 2 of the training programme and is hereby inviting applicants from the following electoral districts: Matobo, Lupane, Chipinge, Mt Darwin, Bikita, Kariba, Mudzi, Gokwe South.

Aspiring women political candidates, political party affiliated and independent alike, with interest in running for elections, both national and local, should submit a motivational letter to
