Angeline Vere

Education

Mrs. Angeline Vere is a registered legal practitioner and a holder of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree (LLB) from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), a Masters in Corporate Law (LLM) attained from the University of South Africa (UNISA), a Diploma in Finance and Accounting and an Executive Diploma in Business Administration and several telecommunications and corporate governance qualifications.

Gender Equality Area of Interest

The Commissioner has a keen interest in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and in enforcement and investigation of violation of laws pertaining to human rights and gender equality. Mrs. Vere chairs the Commission’s Legal and Investigations Committee and the Thematic Working Group on gender, legal and constitutional rights. She is also a member of the Audit Committee and Thematic Working Group on Gender and Health.

Career summary

Mrs.  Vere is the Chief Executive Officer of Telecel Zimbabwe, a mobile network operator in Zimbabwe. Mrs. Vere has vast working experience in the areas of corporate governance, compliance, legal risk management and business management having worked for TelOne, the Broadcasting Authority , the Civil Division of the Attorney General’s Office and prosecution  division . She has held various Board positions and is currently a Non-Executive Board Director of Zimplow Holdings.
